Characteristic analysis of XW42 mold steel

XW42 mold steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold work mold steel produced by ASSAB in Sweden. It has the following characteristics:

XW42 chemical composition:

C: 1.55

Mn: 0.40

Si: 0.30

Cr: 11.8

Mo: 0.80

V: 0.80

XW42 factory status: soft return to HB250

Wear resistance: XW42 mold steel has high wear resistance and can be used in working environments where thicker and harder materials are cut. Maintain stability and reduce wear.

Strong impact resistance: XW42 mold steel has good impact resistance and can withstand high pressure and stress without being prone to breakage or deformation.

High compressive strength: XW42 mold steel has high compressive strength and can withstand greater pressure and load while remaining stable.

Good hardenability: XW42 mold steel has good hardenability, allowing it to harden evenly, resulting in consistent hardness and strength.

Based on the above characteristics, XW42 mold steel is usually used to manufacture tools and parts that require wear resistance and appropriate toughness. It is widely used in fine blanking dies, embossing dies, cold extrusion dies, cold forging dies, drawing dies, curling dies and other workplaces that require wear resistance and moderate toughness. In addition, XW42 mold steel is also used in plastic molds that require wear resistance.
